To Know & Love Jesus, showing His Love & bringing His Hope to all.

We want to help people know Jesus better and that discipleship process is called our Cross DNA.

It’s all about Jesus.

We will always have Jesus at the center of whatever we do, making sure we are always pointing others to Him.

We treasure His Word.

More than just a book of great stories, we know that the bible is powerful and needs be a daily staple of our lives, helping us to know God better while providing the ‘spiritual food’ we need to grow stronger.

We know there is Power in Prayer

We know that our Father in heaven hears us and that nothing is impossible for Him, so we want to bring everything to Him through prayer, asking Him for His wisdom, direction and provision in all that we do.

We want to have Crazy Faith

We do not want to put limitations on what God can do, but we will believe that with Him anything is possible, so that we take those steps of crazy faith out of the boat and onto the waves.

We strive to be authentic.

We want our walk and our worship to be real and lived out, expressing the power of a relationship with Jesus and not just a religious experience.

We want to be known for our love.

Our love for one another should be seen, whether through our example, our outreach to the poor, our opportunity to share the gospel or simply pointing others to the love of Jesus.

We would rather be in the game than in the stands.

We are taking action, whether young or old, using our God given gifts to serve Him and others by bringing His love and hope to all.

We will always be Thankful.

We make it a habit to give God all the thanks and praise, no matter the circumstance.

We can do more by doing less.

Focus on what’s important, keeping it simple.

We believe in team.

We work together, honoring one another, unified for the same goal.

When Ashleigh and I began The Cross, it was not the original name that I had in mind. I came to Ashleigh one afternoon and told her how I think I had the name for our church. I said I thought the name ‘REFRESH’ would be a good one for our new church. She immediately said in her delightful, loving and elegant English accent, ‘Refresh?…Refresh?..I am sorry love, but that sounds like a woman’s hygiene product! Oh no, Greg, I cannot go to a church called ‘Refresh’ as I will be thinking about Tampons every time I hear it.’ I laughed so hard knowing this would never be our name and then she said, ‘We want the church to be real and back to basics and all about Jesus, right? I, of course, agreed. Then she said, ‘So, how about we call it, “THE CROSS”?’ Now, I had just finished reading 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 where Paul writes, ‘And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.’ Paul focused on Jesus and Him crucified. The Cross was the key. It represented everything Jesus so sacrificially did for us by dying an excruciatingly painful death. But the Cross was also empty, telling the story that Jesus died, was buried and as we know, rose from the dead the third day. It was a great name. It was what we were all about. Ashleigh saw my face and that I liked the name, so immediately in her precious sense of humor said, ‘Did I just come up with the name? Oh, you must tell everyone, because you normally come up with all of the clever names. Everyone must know that God gave me the name for our church!!’ She wasn’t looking for glory, just feeling blessed that God gave her the name to give to us as we began our new adventure of faith. The Cross is the perfect name for our church. It fits exactly who we are. You may have noticed that we designed our current logo to look a bit like a modern key, because The Cross is the key. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, because those sins separate us from a holy God. But God, in His great grace, let His son Jesus die on the cross to pay the price for our sins. He washes those sins away by our trusting Him to be our savior. As Paul writes in Romans 6:23, ‘The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.’ We get that forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life not because of anything we do, but because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. We hope you can join us at The Cross sometime soon and that you begin that real relationship with Jesus as you recognize that The Cross is Key to eternal life. It all starts with recognizing you are a sinner and then realizing you need a savior for those sins. Jesus is the Savior for those sins, so if you believe that, simply ask Jesus to forgive you of whatever sin you have done. His death on the Cross paid the price for those sins. That turn from one direction to another is called repentance. Paul said in Romans 10:9, ‘If you confess with your mouth The Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.’ Once You have repented of your sins and believe in Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you become a christian, a follower of Jesus and we know you will want to follow His ways. When you believe, you will want to learn more about Him on a daily basis. That is why we have a bible for you so please let us know if you have started that relationship with Jesus. The Bible is called God’s word because It is filled with God’s words, His promises and insight on how we can know God better. It will give you an understanding of who He is and how you can apply that to your own life to be more like Him. This is the beginning of your adventure in faith! We hope that we, the cross church, can be a part of that journey. If you have any questions, please let us know!  Feel free to email us at
