Let’s Rise Up and FAST & PRAY

Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, “The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.”

So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer. Ezra 8:21-23

Hello CrossFamily!
I don’t have to tell you that Hurricane Dorian is a massive storm that could make a devastating impact on the Bahamas, our state of Florida and other States. You probably heard that It had caused us not to be able to have church on Sunday. All of the schools that are rented out in Dade County have been closed. So, that means we will not be gathering together on Sunday. But, a closed building does not stop us from praying!

I am sure all of you are praying and asking God for help during this storm. I want to ask you and your family to take those prayers a bit deeper and join Gaby and I as we Fast & Pray. Ezra knew the spiritual power of fasting and praying as he and his people were in danger from thieves, bandits, and enemies on their journey. Instead of requesting an escort from the King, Ezra went straight to the source of his protection. His mighty God.

I know that this storm is massive, and I know it looks dire, but I also know that God hears our prayers. Maybe, just maybe, our God will steer this Hurricane Dorian away from Florida or prevent massive damage as He hears our cries. Let’s begin to tap into the spiritual power in fasting and praying. Fasting and praying will allow us to lay it all out before the Lord. If there is repentance that needs to happen, then please repent. This time of prayer and fasting would be about bringing God glory. Our God is the only one who can move the wind, the dry air, the Gulfstream or the water temperature to cause Hurricane Dorian to move away from all of these areas. Let’s ask Him to help, to protect, to do a miracle.

By fasting and praying, we are allowing God to know that we love and depend on Him for our protection, help, our everything. He is a very present help in times of trouble. Let us rise up and Fast & Pray.
You can fast whatever you may feel best fits. It could be a meal, two meals, a specific thing like sugar or coffee, or a length of time like a day or two days.

We will begin this today, Saturday, August 31st and keep fasting and praying until this storm has finished its course.

Let’s Pray for God to move Hurricane Dorian, where it does the least damage.

Let’s pray that He would cause it to implode or run its course only in the ocean.

Let’s pray that He would provide miraculous protection over any areas that He chooses to allow the hurricane to hit.

Let’s pray that God would protect the Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina.

Let’s rise up and Fast & Pray!

All glory to God!
