HURRICANE RELIEF- Hurricane Michael

‌Hurricane Michael has caused catastrophic damage to the Panhandle along with other parts of Florida. It also had caused flooding throughout the area of the Carolinas and Virginia. Many organizations are providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to hurricane victims. Please be praying for those affected by the hurricanes as well as the disaster response teams.

If you want to support those impacted by Hurricane Florence, we are partnering with the following organizations as they provide relief:

CONVOY OF HOPE- Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, humanitarian relief organization consistently among the first to respond to disasters around the world. They are actively providing relief to those affected by the hurricanes. Convoy of Hope is positioned and ready to serve the communities in and around Marianna, Florida. The distribution site in Marianna opened yesterday, and they were able to hand out food, baby products, brooms, hygiene kits, flood buckets, tarps and trash cans to those affected by the storm. Throughout the day, volunteers bagged and distributed supplies to those in need.

Convoy will also begin mobile distribution to help outlying communities and individuals who are unable to drive to our central distribution hub.

Up to 50 additional truckloads of supplies are en route to help Convoy’s disaster response teams and provide supplies to those affected by the storm.

Samaritan’s Purse- Samaritan’s Purse is a is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Samaritan’s Purse North American Ministries stands ready to respond in Jesus’ Name with staff, equipment, and disaster relief units—tractor-trailers filled with tools and supplies. Preparations for a possible deployment are already underway. If a response is mounted, teams of volunteers will be mobilized to help homeowners with cleanup. Billy Graham Rapid Respond Team chaplains would also be called on to serve.

Samaritan’s Purse is establishing worksites along the Florida Panhandle where the entirety of at least one town’s structures are merely splinters and debris strewn along the ground. We will also be working in devastated Albany where church partners report greater damage and flooding than they have ever seen in that storm-weary south Georgia city. Samaritan’s Purse staff are currently on the ground in both locations assessing needs. We will begin receiving volunteers in the coming days.
