Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39
Have you ever had an emotional breakup where the deep love you felt that was seemingly a forever kind of love, got ripped from you? That pain can be emotionally taxing, hurtful and long lasting. The good news is that pain will slowly fade, but what’s also good is that we see from our verse that this feeling is limited to our physical relationships here on this earth. It will never occur when it comes to God’s love for you and I. His love will always be there. Nothing, whether its someone or something, whether its good or bad will ever get in the way of His love for you and me. We may feel He doesn’t love us because maybe we are not getting what we prayed for or what we desire, but His love is there. The deepest pain in my life happened when my wife, the love of my life, went to heaven last year. Certainly, I have that hope of heaven for my wife, but the pain is going to happen with the tangible loss just as it is in that emotional breakup. We prayed, we believed for that healing, but no matter the pain of the outcome, I never felt that God didn’t love me, nor didn’t care about my hurt. No, He was there, comforting me, strengthening me and allowing me to move forward in Him. His love for me was there and is still evident in how He has provided and removed much of that pain from me. Your case may not be loss or breakup, but maybe your life choices have caused you to end up doing things that have caused you to feel separated from His love. No matter where you are at, If you repent and return, you will realize that His love is still there. He is waiting for your return as the Father with the prodigal son waited with open arms running towards his son. Don’t listen to the lies telling you that God doesn’t care anymore. No, He loves you and nothing will separate that love from you. We Christians need to walk in that knowledge that no matter what happens today, tomorrow for the rest of your lives, God has an intense, immense love for us, and that love is lasting, forever, never ending, never disappearing. When we understand His deep love, then we walk in confidence, we walk in holiness, we walk in His power, and we become those conquerors of what we face each day. Now that’s a love to celebrate. Hope you have an awesome Valentine’s day!
